For Students and Young Professionals:

Join the pilot mentorship initiative for the duration of the 46th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing!
Are you a Student or Young Professional (SYP) (see eligibility criteria below) looking to expand your network and gain insights from experienced professionals in remote sensing? For the duration of the 46th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing in Lethbridge, Alberta we are offering a one-off opportunity: A volunteer-based pilot mentorship initiative to help you connect, learn, and grow.

What’s in it for you?

  • Guidance on career development, industry/government/academia insights, work-life balance, etc.
  • Opportunities to expand your professional network
  • A supportive environment to ask questions & seek advice
  • Connections during the symposium and beyond to peers in your field

How it works:

  • Eligibility: For the purpose of this pilot mentorship initiative during the symposium, Students and Young Professionals are defined as those who are either a) enrolled full- time as students at a university or college, or b) have completed their most recent degree within the last 5 years.
  • To ensure that all mentees benefit from expert guidance, we offer individual group mentorship sessions with experienced mentors during the symposium (one mentor for ~ two to four mentees). One-on-one meetups will be offered if enough mentors are available for the registered mentees.
  • Sign up when you register for the symposium. Select the option “Are you interested in learning about and participating in our pilot mentorship initiative either as a mentor or mentee”.
  • Fill out the short questionnaire (sent to you by email) to get matched with your mentor based on your interests/experiences.
  • Meet your mentor-mentee group during the symposium for a valuable discussion (meetings will be scheduled directly between the mentor and the mentees).
  • The number of meetings during the conference depend on the availability of the mentor- mentee group.
Join us! Expand your network and gain valuable career insights by being part of this exciting initiative.
