Measles Advisory for Southern Alberta

Dear CSRS2025 Delegate,
The symposium organising committee has become aware of an Alberta Health Services Advisory regarding the current measles situation in Alberta. Regularly updated measles information is available from the Alberta Govt ici, and from the Government of Canada ici
Our symposium is being held in Lethbridge, which is in the ‘South Zone’ of Alberta. This region has experienced the highest number of cases across Alberta in recent weeks, with the vast majority being amongst unvaccinated individuals.
We are sharing this information, not to raise alarm or concern, but for information purposes. In particular, for anyone not presently vaccinated against measles or that might be otherwise immune compromised and thus at greater risk, we urge you to refer to the advisory and links above to better understand the risks. If you have measles symptoms, we urge you to check and follow the recommendations of your local Public Health Authority.
Otherwise, the planning for the symposium is well in hand and we are all very much looking forwards to welcoming you to Lethbridge and the 46, Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing!
Cordialement,
CSRS 2025 Organising Committee
