Published April 24, 2020 –
When the World Health Organisation announced the COVID 19 pandemic at end of February, we paused the registration for CSRS 2020 in Yellowknife this July to re-evaluate our options. After wide consultations with conference and community stakeholders we have transitioned the program to an online format and are working with ExOrdo to develop a platform to host the conference; including plenaries, workshops, posters, panel discussions and oral presentations. The new online program is yet to be finalised and announced but will closely align with the content of our preliminary program intended for live delivery in Yellowknife (https://crss-sct.ca/conferences/csrs-2020/program-and-special-events/). We will modify delivery format to use the online format to maximum effect. All accepted poster and oral presentations are assured a slot in the program and we expect opportunities for exposure and networking to be high.
Now that authors have received their abstract review notifications, we have re-opened the registration (https://csrs2020.exordo.com/registration). The good news is now that we no longer have catering or room rental costs and no physical limitations on space for delegates, the registration fees are much reduced. However, we do have new costs associated with online planning and delivery, as well as previous expenditures to cover and a substantial loss in exhibitor revenue. We have estimated the new conference and workshop registration costs at what we hope will allow us to break even and not incur a loss for the Canadian Remote Sensing Society.
Here are the new registration fees for CRSS members (non-members will pay an additional $50):
Early bird pricing until May 31:
After May 31st:
Workshop (for conference delegates):
Both AM & PM sessions: $80
AM or PM only: $50
Workshop for non-conference delegates:
Both AM & PM sessions: $160
AM or PM only: $100
Please register at https://csrs2020.exordo.com/registration to be part of the first ever e-CSRS!
We hope you can join us online in July!
