CSRS 2018 – Call for Special Sessions


Special Sessions on new, emerging, and advanced topics on remote sensing technologies in multi-disciplinary aspects will be an essential complement to the regular program on the 39th Canadian Symposium of Remote Sensing being held in Saskatoon, SK, June 19-21, 2018.

Special sessions concentrates on new or advanced sensors (SAR, Radarsat Constellation Mission, LiDAR, UAV, and Optical etc.) and cutting-edge algorithms and methods on image processing (Big data management and analysis, deep learning, and multitemporal/multispatial image etc.) in, but not limited to, the following fields:

• Agriculture
• Hydrology
• Forest
• Wetland
• Urban
• Geology/Archaeology/Oil/Gas
• Coast
• Health
• Fire
• Climate change/Meteorology
• Ecology
• Education
• History

How to Apply?

Should you be interested in organizing a special session, please submit a proposal as a single PDF file to zhaoqin.li@usask.ca, with the following information:

  • Title of the proposed topic with a brief description (<150 words).
  • Short biography of the session organizer(s), including complete address for contact

When you submit the proposal, please clearly state the subject heading as CSRS2018 Special Session Proposal.

The submitted proposals will be evaluated mainly based on the timeliness of the topic and the qualifications of the organizers. The balance of the topics across their represented technical areas will also be considered.

Important Dates

Proposals must be submitted no later than October 18th, 2017.
Final notification of acceptance/rejection will be sent by October 20th, 2017.
